Our God, our help in ages past

1. Our God, our help in ages past,
our hope for years to come,
our shelter from the stormy blast,
and our eternal home.

2. Under the shadow of Thy throne
Thy saints have dwelt secure;
sufficient is Thine arm alone,
and our defense is sure.

3. Before the hills in order stood,
or earth received her frame,
from everlasting Thou art God,
to endless years the same.

4. Thy Word commands our flesh to dust,
“Return, ye sons of men:”
All nations rose from earth at first,
and turn to earth again.

5. A thousand ages in Thy sight
are like an evening gone.
Short as the watch that ends the night
before the rising sun.

6. The busy tribes of flesh and blood,
with all their lives and cares,
are carried downwards by the flood,
and lost in following years.

7. Time, like an ever rolling stream,
bears all its sons away.
They fly, forgotten, as a dream
dies at the opening day.

8. Like flowery fields the nations stand
pleased with the morning light.
The flowers beneath the mower’s hand
lie withering ere ‘tis night.

9. Our God, our help in ages past,
our hope for years to come,
be Thou our guard while troubles last,
and our eternal home.

O come, all ye faithful

1. O come, all ye faithful,
joyful and triumphant,
O come ye, O come ye, to Bethlehem.
Come and behold Him,
born the King of angels;
O come, let us adore Him,
O come, let us adore Him,
O come, let us adore Him,
Christ the Lord.

2. True God of true God,
Light from Light Eternal,
Lo, He shuns not the Virgin’s womb;
Son of the Father,
begotten, not created;
O come, let us adore Him...

3. Sing, choirs of angels,
sing in exultation;
O sing, all ye citizens of heaven above!
Glory to God,
all glory in the highest;
O come, let us adore Him...

4. See how the shepherds,
summoned to His cradle,
Leaving their flocks, draw nigh to gaze;
We too will thither
bend our joyful footsteps;
O come, let us adore Him...

5. Lo! star led chieftains,
Magi, Christ adoring,
Offer Him incense, gold, and myrrh;
We to the Christ Child
bring our hearts’ oblations.
O come, let us adore Him...

6. Child, for us sinners
poor and in the manger,
We would embrace Thee, with love and awe;
Who would not love Thee,
loving us so dearly?
O come, let us adore Him...

7. Yea, Lord, we greet Thee,
born this happy morning;
Jesus, to Thee be glory given;
Word of the Father,
now in flesh appearing.
O come, let us adore Him...

Silent night

1. Silent night, holy night,
all is calm, all is bright
round yon virgin mother and Child.
Holy Infant, so tender and mild,
sleep in heavenly peace,
sleep in heavenly peace.

2. Silent night, holy night,
shepherds quake at the sight;
glories stream from heaven afar,
heavenly hosts sing Alleluia!
Christ the Savior is born,
Christ the Savior is born!

3. Silent night, holy night,
Son of God, love’s pure light;
radiant beams from Thy holy face
with the dawn of redeeming grace,
Jesus, Lord, at Thy birth,
Jesus, Lord, at Thy birth.

4. Silent night, holy night
wondrous star, lend thy light;
with the angels let us sing
Alleluia to our King;
Christ the Savior is born,
Christ the Savior is born!

The Church`s one foundation

1. The Church’s one foundation
is Jesus Christ her Lord,
she is His new creation
by water and the Word.
From heaven He came and sought her
to be His holy bride;
with His own blood He bought her
and for her life He died.

2. She is from every nation,
yet one o’er all the earth;
her charter of salvation,
one Lord, one faith, one birth.
One holy Name she blesses,
partakes one holy food,
and to one hope she presses,
with every grace endued.

3. The Church shall never perish!
Her dear Lord to defend,
to guide, sustain, and cherish,
is with her to the end.
Though there be those who hate her,
and false sons in her pale,
against both foe or traitor
she ever shall prevail.

4. Though with a scornful wonder
men see her sore oppressed,
by schisms rent asunder,
by heresies distressed.
Yet saints their watch are keeping,
their cry goes up, “How long?”
And soon the night of weeping
shall be the morn of song!

5. ’Mid toil and tribulation,
and tumult of her war,
she waits the consummation
of peace forevermore;
Till, with the vision glorious,
her longing eyes are blest,
and the great Church victorious
shall be the Church at rest.

6. Yet she on earth hath union
with God the Three in One,
and mystic sweet communion
with those whose rest is won,
with all her sons and daughters
who, by the Master’s hand
led through the deathly waters,
repose in Eden land.

7. O happy ones and holy!
Lord, give us grace that we
like them, the meek and lowly,
on high may dwell with Thee:
there, past the border mountains,
where in sweet vales the Bride
with Thee by living fountains
forever shall abide!

What a friend we have in Jesus

1. What a Friend we have in Jesus,
all our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry
everything to God in prayer!
O what peace we often forfeit,
O what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry
everything to God in prayer.

2. Have we trials and temptations?
Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged;
take it to the Lord in prayer.
Can we find a friend so faithful
who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness;
take it to the Lord in prayer.

3. Are we weak and heavy laden,
cumbered with a load of care?
Precious Savior, still our refuge,
take it to the Lord in prayer.
Do your friends despise, forsake you?
Take it to the Lord in prayer!
In His arms He’ll take and shield you;
you will find a solace there.

4. Blessed Savior, Thou hast promised
Thou wilt all our burdens bear
May we ever, Lord, be bringing
all to Thee in earnest prayer.
Soon in glory bright unclouded
there will be no need for prayer
Rapture, praise and endless worship
will be our sweet portion there
.

Tell me the story of Jesus

1. Tell me the story of Jesus,
write on my heart every word.
Tell me the story most precious,
sweetest that ever was heard.
Tell how the angels in chorus,
sang as they welcomed His birth:
“Glory to God in the highest!
Peace and good tidings to earth.”
Tell me the story of Jesus,
write on my heart every word.
Tell me the story most precious,
sweetest that ever was heard.

2. Fasting alone in the desert,
tell of the days that are past.
How for our sins He was tempted,
yet was triumphant at last.
Tell of the years of His labor,
yell of the sorrow He bore.
He was despised and afflicted,
homeless, rejected and poor.
Tell me the story of Jesus...

3. Tell of the cross where they nailed Him,
writhing in anguish and pain.
Tell of the grave where they laid Him,
tell how He liveth again.
Love in that story so tender,
clearer than ever I see.
Stay, let me weep while you whisper:
Love paid the ransom for me.
Tell me the story of Jesus...

Let us with a gladsome mind

1. Let us, with a gladsome mind,
praise the Lord, for He is kind.
For His mercies aye endure,
Ever faithful, ever sure.

2. Let us blaze His Name abroad,
for of gods He is the God,
for His mercies...

3. He with all commanding might
filled the new made world with light.
For His mercies...

4. He hath, with a piteous eye,
looked upon our misery.
For His mercies...

5. He the golden tressèd sun
caused all day his course to run.
For His mercies...

6. Th’horned moon to shine by night;
’Mid her spangled sisters bright.
For His mercies...

7. All things living He doth feed,
His full hand supplies their need.
For His mercies...

8. Let us, with a gladsome mind,
Praise the Lord, for He is kind.
For His mercies...

We praise Thee O God (Revive us again)

1. We praise Thee, O God!
For the Son of Thy love,
For Jesus Who died,
And is now gone above.
Hallelujah! Thine the glory.
Hallelujah! Amen.
Hallelujah! Thine the glory.
Revive us again.

2. We praise Thee, O God!
For Thy Spirit of light,
Who hath shown us our Savior,
And scattered our night.
Hallelujah...

3. All glory and praise
To the Lamb that was slain,
Who hath borne all our sins,
And hath cleansed every stain.
Hallelujah...

4. All glory and praise
To the God of all grace,
Who hast brought us, and sought us,
And guided our ways.
Hallelujah...

5. Revive us again;
Fill each heart with Thy love;
May each soul be rekindled
With fire from above.
Halleluja...

Holy, holy, holy

1. Holy, holy, holy!
Lord God Almighty!
Early in the morning
our song shall rise to Thee.
Holy, holy, holy,
merciful and mighty!
God in three Persons,
blessèd Trinity!

2. Holy, holy, holy!
All the saints adore Thee,
casting down their golden crowns
around the glassy sea.
Cherubim and seraphim
falling down before Thee,
who was, and is,
and evermore shall be.

3. Holy, holy, holy!
Though the darkness hide Thee,
though the eye of sinful man
Thy glory may not see,
only Thou art holy;
there is none beside Thee,
perfect in power,
in love, and purity.

4. Holy, holy, holy!
Lord God Almighty!
All Thy works shall praise Thy Name,
in earth, and sky, and sea.
Holy, holy, holy;
merciful and mighty!
God in three Persons,
blessèd Trinity!

Guide me, O Thou great Redeemer

1. Guide me, O Thou great Redeemer,
pilgrim through this barren land.
I am weak, but Thou art mighty;
hold me with Thy powerful hand.
Bread of Heaven, Bread of Heaven,
feed me till I want no more,
feed me till I want no more.

2. Open now the crystal fountain,
whence the healing stream doth flow;
let the fire and cloudy pillar
lead me all my journey through.
Strong Deliverer, strong Deliverer,
be Thou still my Strength and Shield,
be Thou still my Strength and Shield.

3. Lord, I trust Thy mighty power,
wondrous are Thy works of old;
thou deliver’st Thine from thralldom,
who for naught themselves had sold:
thou didst conquer, Thou didst conquer
sin, and Satan and the grave,
sin, and Satan and the grave.

4. When I tread the verge of Jordan,
bid my anxious fears subside;
death of deaths, and hell’s destruction,
land me safe on Canaan’s side.
Songs of praises, songs of praises
I will ever give to Thee,
I will ever give to Thee.

Abide with me

1. Abide with me; fast falls the eventide;
the darkness deepens; Lord with me abide.
When other helpers fail and comforts flee,
help of the helpless, O abide with me.

2. Swift to its close ebbs out life’s little day;
earth’s joys grow dim; its glories pass away;
change and decay in all around I see;
o Thou who changest not, abide with me.

3. Not a brief glance I beg, a passing word;
but as Thou dwell’st with Thy disciples, Lord,
familiar, condescending, patient, free.
Come not to sojourn, but abide with me.

4. Come not in terrors, as the King of kings,
but kind and good, with healing in Thy wings,
tears for all woes, a heart for every plea—
come, Friend of sinners, and thus bide with me.

5. Thou on my head in early youth didst smile;
and, though rebellious and perverse meanwhile,
thou hast not left me, oft as I left Thee,
on to the close, O Lord, abide with me.

6. I need Thy presence every passing hour.
What but Thy grace can foil the tempter’s power?
Who, like Thyself, my guide and stay can be?
Through cloud and sunshine, Lord, abide with me.

7. I fear no foe, with Thee at hand to bless;
ills have no weight, and tears no bitterness.
Where is death’s sting? Where, grave, thy victory?
I triumph still, if Thou abide with me.

8. Hold Thou Thy cross before my closing eyes;
shine through the gloom and point me to the skies.
Heaven’s morning breaks, and earth’s vain shadows flee;
in life, in death, O Lord, abide with me.
