In the midst of earthly life
1. In the midst of earthly life
snares of death surround us;
who shall help us in the strife L
lest the Foe confound us?
Thou only, Lord, Thou only.
We mourn that we have greatly erred,
that our sins Thy wrath have stirred.
Holy and righteous God!
Holy and mighty God!
Holy and allmerciful Savior!
Eternal Lord God!
Save us lest we perish
in the bitter pangs of death.
Have mercy, O Lord!
2. In the midst of death's dark vale
powers of hell o'ertake us.
Who will help when they assail,
who secure will make us?
Thou only, Lord, Thou only.
Thy heart is moved with tenderness,
pities us in our distress.
Holy and righteous God!
Holy and mighty God!
Holy and allmerciful Savior!
Eternal Lord God!
Save us lest we perish
in the bitter pangs of death.
Have mercy, O Lord!
3. In the midst of utter woe
all our sins oppress us,
where shall we for refuge go,
where for grace to bless us?
To Thee, Lord Jesus, only.
Thy precious blood was shed to win
full atonement for our sin.
Holy and righteous God!
Holy and mighty God!
Holy and allmerciful Savior!
Eternal Lord God!
Save us lest we perish
in the bitter pangs of death.
Have mercy, O Lord!

The Lord´s my Shepherd, I´ll not want
För en oändlig musikslinga, lyssna här!
1. The Lord’s my Shepherd, I’ll not want;
He makes me down to lie
in pastures green; He leadeth me
the quiet waters by.
2. My soul He doth restore again,
and me to walk doth make
within the paths of righteousness,
e’en for His own name’s sake.
3. Yea, though I walk in death’s dark vale,
yet will I fear no ill;
for Thou art with me, and Thy rod
and staff me comfort still.
4. My table Thou hast furnished
in presence of my foes;
my head Thou dost with oil anoint,
and my cup overflows.
5. Goodness and mercy all my life
shall surely follow me,
and in God’s house forevermore
my dwelling-place shall be.

Our day of joy is here again
1. Our day of joy is here again,
with love and peace and song.
Come, let us join th’angelic strain
with voices clear and strong.
Glory to our God, we sing,
glory to our Lord and King;
peace, goodwill with all abide
this holy Christmas tide.
2. When darkness lay upon this earth,
a glorious light did shine;
God sent a Gift of priceless worth
and showed His love divine.
Glory to our God...
3. Now to the manger let us go
to worship and adore
the tender Babe upon the straw,
our Savior evermore.
Glory to our God...
4. How wonderful that God’s own Son
should so Himself abase!
He thrust the mighty from their throne,
and gave the lowly grace.
Glory to our God...

God be with you till we meet again
1. God be with you till we meet again,
by His counsels guide, uphold you,
with His sheep securely fold you;
God be with you till we meet again.
Till we meet, till we meet,
till we meet at Jesus’ feet;
till we meet, till we meet,
God be with you till we meet again.
2. God be with you till we meet again;
neath His wings protecting hide you;
daily manna still provide you;
God be with you till we meet again.
Till we meet...
3. God be with you till we meet again;
with the oil of joy anoint you;
sacred ministries appoint you;
God be with you till we meet again.
Till we meet...
4. God be with you till we meet again;
when life’s perils thick confound you,
put His arms unfailing round you;
God be with you till we meet again.
Till we meet..
5. God be with you till we meet again;
of His promises remind you;
for life’s upper garner bind you;
God be with you till we meet again.
Till we meet...
6. God be with you till we meet again;
sicknesses and sorrows taking,
never leaving or forsaking;
God be with you till we meet again.
Till we meet...
7. God be with you till we meet again;
keep love’s banner floating o’er you,
strike death’s threatening wave before you;
God be with you till we meet again.
Till we meet...
8. God be with you till we meet again;
ended when for you earth’s story,
Israel’s chariot sweep to glory;
God be with you till we meet again.
Till we meet...
Come, Thou fount of every blessing
1. Come, thou Fount of every blessing,
tune my heart to sing thy grace;
streams of mercy, never ceasing,
call for songs of loudest praise.
Teach me some melodious sonnet,
sung by flaming tongues above.
Praise the mount! I'm fixed upon it,
mount of thy redeeming love.
2. Here I raise mine Ebenezer;
hither by thy help I'm come;
and I hope, by thy good pleasure,
safely to arrive at home.
Jesus sought me when a stranger,
wandering from the fold of God;
he, to rescue me from danger,
interposed his precious blood.
3. O to grace how great a debtor
daily I'm constrained to be!
Let thy goodness, like a fetter,
bind my wandering heart to thee.
Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it,
prone to leave the God I love;
here's my heart, O take and seal it,
seal it for thy courts above.

Free from the law
1. Free from the law, O happy condition,
Jesus has bled and there is remission,
cursed by the law and bruised by the fall,
grace hath redeemed us once for all.
Once for all, O sinner, receive it,
once for all, O brother, believe it;
cling to the cross, the burden will fall,
Christ hath redeemed us once for all.
2. Now we are free, there’s no condemnation, Jesus provides a perfect salvation.
“Come unto Me,” O hear His sweet call,
come, and He saves us once for all.
Once for all...
3.“Children of God,” O glorious calling,
surely His grace will keep us from falling;
passing from death to life at His call;
blessèd salvation once for all.
Once for all...

Break forth, break forth
1. Break forth, break forth, o joyful heart,
and make His goodness known,
who all thy life, though undeserved,
such love to thee has shown.
Break forth, break forth, o joyful heart,
no longer silent be;
break forth in grateful praise to him
who came to ransom Thee.
2. ’Twas Jesus sought my wand’ring soul,
and with a shepherd’s care
he brought me kindly to his fold,
and still protects me there.
He is my Advocate with God,
my Savior and my Friend,
his mercies new with every morn
like balmy showers descend.
3. My soul shall magnify the Lord,
my voice his love proclaim,
and every power within me join
to bless and praise his Name.
Break forth, break forth, o joyful heart,
no longer silent be;
break forth in grateful praise to him
who came to ransom Thee.

One is kind above all others
1. One is kind above all others,
o how He loves!
His is love beyond a brother’s;
o how He loves!
Earthly friends may fall and leave thee,
one day kind, the next day grieve thee;
but this friend will ne’er deceive thee;
o how He loves!
2. ’Tis eternal life to know Him,
o how He loves!
Think, oh think, how much we owe Him,
o how He loves!
With His precious blood He bought us,
in the wilderness He sought us
to His fold He safely brought us,
o how He loves!
3. Blessèd Jesus! wouldst thou know Him?
O how He loves!
Give thine heart, thine all unto Him;
o how He loves!
Is it sin that pains or grieves thee,
unbelief or trials seize thee?
Jesus can from all release thee;
o how He loves!
4. Love this friend: He longs to save thee;
o how He loves!
All through life He will not leave thee;
o how He loves!
Think no more of friendships hollow;
take His easy yoke and follow;
Jesus carries all thy sorrow;
o how He loves!
5. All thy sins shall be forgiven;
o how He loves!
Backward shall thy foes be driven;
o how He loves!
Best of blessings He’ll provide thee;
naught but good shall e’er betide thee;
safe to glory He will guide thee;
o how He loves!

Saviour, hear me while before thy feet
Mel. efter ca 2 minuter:
1. Saviour, hear me while before thy feet
I the record of my sins repeat.
Stained with guilt, myself abhorring,
filled with grief, my soul outpouring;
canst thou still in mercy think of me,
stoop to set my shackled spirit free,
raise my sinking heart and bid me be
Thy child once more?
Is there grace my every debt to pay,
blood to wash my every sin away,
power to keep me spotless day by day,
for me, for me?
2. All the memories of deeds gone by
rise within me and thy power defy;
with a deathly chill ensnaring,
they would leave my soul despairing.
Saviour, take my hand, I cannot tell
how to stem the tides that round me swell,
how to ease my conscience, or to quell
my flaming heart.
Is there grace...
3. Yet why should I fear? Hast thou not died
that no seeking soul should be denied?
To that heart, its sins confessing,
canst thou fail to give a blessing?
By the love and pity thou hast shown,
by the blood that did for me atone,
boldly will I kneel before thy throne,
a pleading soul.
Is there grace...
4. All the rivers of thy grace I claim,
over every promise write my name;
as I am I come, believing,
as thou art thou dost receiving,
bid me rise a free and pardoned slave,
master o'er my sin, the world, the grave,
charging me to preach thy power to save
yo sinbound souls.
Grace there is my every debt to pay,
blood to wash my every sin away,
power to keep me spotless day by day,
for me, for me!

Hold the forth
1. Ho! my comrades, see the signal
waving in the sky!
Reinforcements now appearing,
victory is nigh!
Hold the fort, for I am coming,”
Jesus signals still,
wave the answer back to Heaven:
“By Thy grace we will.”
2. See the mighty host advancing,
Satan leading on;
mighty men around us falling,
courage almost gone.
Hold the fort...
3. See the glorious banner waving,
hear the bugle blow;
in our Leader’s Name we triumph
over every foe.
Hold the fort...
4. Fierce and long the battle rages,
but our help is near;
onward comes our great Commander,
cheer, my comrades, cheer!
Hold the fort...

Jesus´ love is very wonderful
Jesus´ love is very wonderful,
Jesus´ love is very wonderful,
Jesus´ love is very wonderful,
oh, wonderful love!
So high, you can´t get over it,
so low, you can´t get under it,
so wide, you can´t get round it,
oh, wonderful love!
Jesus´ love is very beautiful...

Jesus loves me! This I know
1. Jesus loves me! This I know,
for the Bible tells me so;
little ones to Him belong,
they are weak but He is strong.
Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
The Bible tells me so.
2. Jesus loves me! He who died,
Heaven's gate to open wide;
He will wash away my sin,
let His little child come in.
Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
The Bible tells me so.
3. Jesus loves me! He will stay
close beside me all the way;
He's prepared a home for me,
and some day His face I'll see.
Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
The Bible tells me so.

God of the living, in whose eyes
1. God of the living, in whose eyes
unveiled Thy whole creation lies,
all souls are Thine, we must not say
that those are dead who pass away;
from this our world of flesh set free,
we know them living unto Thee.
2. Released from earthly toil and strife,
with Thee is hidden still their life;
Thine are their thoughts, their works, their powers, all Thine, and yet most truly ours;
for well we know, where’er they be,
our dead are living unto Thee.
3. Not spilt like water on the ground,
not wrapped in dreamless sleep profound,
not wandering in unknown despair,
beyond Thy voice, Thine Arm, Thy care;
not left to lie like fallen tree—
not dead, but living, unto Thee.
4. Thy Word is true, Thy will is just;
to Thee we leave them, Lord, in trust;
and bless Thee for the love which gave
Thy Son to fill a human grave;
that none might fear that world to see
where all are living unto Thee.
5. O Breather into man of breath,
o Holder of the keys of death,
o Giver of the life within,
save us from death, the death of sin,
that body, soul, and spirit be
forever living unto Thee.
He who would valiant be
1. He who would valiant be
’gainst all disaster,
let him in constancy
follow the Master.
There’s no discouragement
shall make him once relent
His first avowed intent
to be a pilgrim.
2. Who so beset him round
with dismal stories
do but themselves confound
— his strength the more is.
No foes shall stay his might;
though he with giants fight,
he will make good his right
to be a pilgrim.
3. Since, Lord, Thou dost defend
us with Thy Spirit,
we know we at the end
shall life inherit.
Then fancies flee away!
I’ll fear not what men say,
I’ll labor night and day
to be a pilgrim.

Lord, speak to me that I may speak
1. Lord, speak to me that I may speak
in living echoes of your tone.
As you have sought, so let me seek
your erring children, lost and lone.
2. O lead me, Lord, that I may lead
the wandering and the wavering feet.
O feed me, Lord, that I may feed
your hungering ones with manna sweet.
3 O teach me, Lord, that I may teach
the precious truths which you impart.
And wing my words that thy may reach
the hidden depths of many a heart.
4. O fill me with your fullness, Lord,
until my very heart o'erflow
in kindling thought and glowing word,
your love to tell, your praise to show.
5. O use me, Lord, use even me,
just as you will, and when, and where
until your blessed face I see,
your rest, your joy, your glory share.

My crucified Saviour, despised and contemned
Alt. koral:
1. My crucified Saviour, despised and contemned,
Thou innocent Victim for sinners condemned,
Thy garments are blood-stained, Thy spirit doth groan,
In agony prostrate, Thou sufferest alone.
Thou weepest and moanest in conflict and prayer,
and writhest in agony, pain, and despair;
in thirty years’ anguish our path Thou hast trod,
and diest at last to redeem us to God.
2. For me Thou hast labored salvation to win,
for me tasted death to atone for my sin;
neglected, forsaken, but mindful of me,
Thou prayest for those who have crucified Thee.
Thou consecrate Victim, my Passover slain,
The gall and the wormwood for me Thou dost drain.
That I might be blessed Thou sufferest all woe,
and diest at last on me life to bestow.
3. Our Saviour thus finished God’s plan with our race,
and laid the foundation for pardon and grace.
And then rose triumphant, the conquering Lord,
appeased the Creator and mankind restored, restored to the bliss that was lost in the fall,
yea, greater, for Jesus prepared for us all
eternal salvation and mansions above;
come, poor burdened sinners, rejoice in His love.
4 What is, then, to be reconciled unto God?
It is that He silenced the curse by His blood;
and what the relation to which we're restored?
The right to be counted the friends of the Lord.
So come, trembling sinner, come just as thou art,
Thy cares and Thy sorrows to Jesus impart;
in Him seek salvation from death and the grave,
for Jesus is willing and mighty to save.

Beneath the cross of Jesus
Alt. koral:
1. Beneath the cross of Jesus
I fain would take my stand,
the shadow of a mighty rock
within a weary land;
a home within the wilderness,
a rest upon the way,
from the burning of the noontide heat,
and the burden of the day.
2. O safe and happy shelter,
o refuge tried and sweet,
o trysting place where Heaven’s love
and Heaven’s justice meet!
As to the holy patriarch
that wondrous dream was given,
so seems my Savior’s cross to me,
a ladder up to heaven.
3. There lies beneath its shadow
but on the further side
the darkness of an awful grave
that gapes both deep and wide,
and there between us stands the cross
two arms outstretched to save
a watchman set to guard the way
from that eternal grave.
4. Upon that cross of Jesus
mine eye at times can see
the very dying form of One
who suffered there for me;
and from my stricken heart with tears
two wonders I confess:
the wonders of redeeming love
and my unworthiness.
5. I take, O cross, thy shadow
for my abiding place;
I ask no other sunshine than
the sunshine of His face;
content to let the world go by
to know no gain or loss,
my sinful self my only shame,
my glory all the cross.

If I gained the world, but lost the Savior
1. If I gained the world, but lost the Savior,
were my life worth living for a day?
Could my yearning heart find rest and comfort
in the things that soon must pass away?
If I gained the world, but lost the Savior,
would my gain be worth the lifelong strife?
Are all earthly pleasures worth comparing
for a moment with a Christ-filled life?
2. Had I wealth and love in fullest measure,
and a name revered both far and near,
yet no hope beyond, no harbor waiting,
where my storm-tossed vessel I could steer;
if I gained the world, but lost the Savior,
who endured the cross and died for me,
could then all the world afford a refuge,
whither, in my anguish, I might flee?
3. O what emptiness!—without the Savior
’mid the sins and sorrows here below!
And eternity, how dark without Him!
Only night and tears and endless woe!
What, though I might live without the Savior,
when I come to die, how would it be?
O to face the valley’s gloom without Him!
And without Him all eternity!
4. O the joy of having all in Jesus!
What a balm the broken heart to heal!
Ne’er a sin so great, but He’ll forgive it,
nor a sorrow that He does not feel!
If I have but Jesus, only Jesus,
nothing else in all the world beside—
o then everything is mine in Jesus;
for my needs and more He will provide.

I am a pilgrim
Alt. mel:
1. I am a pilgrim and a stranger,
trav´ling through this wearisome land.
I got a home in that yonder city,
good Lord,
and it´s not made, not made by hand.
2. I got a mother, a sister and brother,
who have gone to that sweet land.
I´m determined to go and see them,
good Lord,
all over that distant shore.
3. As I go down to that river Jordan,
just to bathe my weary soul,
if I could touch but the hem of His garment,
good Lord,
well, I believe it would make me whole.
